  • We will be exploring the story of the Moon Landing. Follow the link to hear the story being read - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfHmjqiSFk8  Create props for each page such as making your own rocket and throwing it in the air, making your own moon, helmet, gloves etc.
  • You can also follow the rhyme ‘zoom, zoom, zoom, we’re going to the moon’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEHBrmZxAf8  Use your hands to make the movements up, for ‘zoom’, round for the moo

  • Explore heavy and light objects by making your own planets. You could:

o Use fruit such as melons to explore heavy

o Make papier mache planets to explore light o Make sensory space bottles (stars, glitter, water, food colouring, shampoo etc) with different amounts inside. Some could be made light and some could be made heavy

  • Explore big and small through a range of sensory activities. You could:

o Use different sized welly boots to make footprints in      moon dust (cocoa powder or milk shake powder)

o Make your own big and small planets. Similar to heavy and light, you could use different sized fruit (e.g. oranges, melons, kiwis etc). You could use big and small balloons.

  • For Science you could create a light box similar to last half term by placing fairy lights or a torch in a clear plastic box/tuppaware lined with black or dark paper. Place different coloured circular items on top to represent planets.

  • • For D&T you could make your own rocket using a range of materials. You could use a cardboard box, shiny tin foil and plastic containers. Encourage pupils to handle and look at the differences in material, is it rough or smooth? Can you bend it? Etc
  • • For History, revisit the zoom, zoom, zoom, we’re going to the moon rhyme and use props to re-enact the moon landing. Countdown together and launch the rocket into the air or throw it into a tray with moon dust in
