  •  - Talk about helping a friend and model activities of how to help or be ‘kind’ 
  • Look through catalogues and ‘mark make’ letters to Santa. 
  • Design and print your own wrapping paper using paper, paint, shaped sponges. 
  • Listen to and learn actions to traditional carols and Christmas songs e.g Away in a Manger - YouTube


  • Explore a range of sized containers, pour and fill ingredients and explore weights and measurements in Christmas Cookery.
  • Look for numbers in the environment.
  • Sort objects into colour groups. Fill a stocking or sock with items of 1 colour.
  • Build ‘churches’ using 3D shaped packaging, building bricks or construction.


R.E, Science, Music and PE :

  •  Listen to Christmas carols and learn to sign ‘Christmas’ 
  • Make cards and give or post to family and friends.
  • Make shadow patterns on the wall using a torch or other light source. · Enjoy using your senses to decorate a tree.
  • Use cloves and oranges with ribbon to make a Christingle


  • Sign ‘Help a friend’ and set the table at home, tidy up or give out snacks etc. 
  • Place ‘chase’ ‘tickle’ or ‘hide’ games using symbols to request. 
  • Take turns to make sounds, humming, tongue clicking, clapping etc.
