Family Homework

At St Giles we want to provide opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in their children's learning. We believe that parental engagement in children's education is a significant factor to positive achievement.

Each half term your child will bring home a choice of activities that they can complete over the half term and linked to the current topic. Parents/carers and children will then be asked to choose an activity to complete over the half term. At the end of each half term we will invite parents into school to look at the work produced by the children and celebrate this with them.

The activities your child will be set will give them the opportunity to practise and consolidate skills, understanding and broaden the context of learning. Also, it allows the children an opportunity to take ownership of their learning and as far as possible be independent learners.
