Topic Summary

We hope you all had a nice week away from school and enjoyed the unexpected sunny weather! We were really impressed with all of the children’s attitude towards learning last term- they all engaged well; especially in English. Our topic this half term is ‘Let’s Get Physical,’ we will be learning:

English: we will be looking at ‘the Day the Crayons Quit’ by Oliver Jeffers, this will help children to share how they are feeling whilst also writing descriptive diary entries.

Maths: in maths we will be looking at statistics, through gathering data from other classrooms, measurements, through comparing different weights and place value within addition.
Science: we will be looking at the human body, how to stay healthy and how heart rate is related to exercise. Hygiene will also be covered this term.

P.E.: P.E. will continue take place on Tuesday afternoons, please ensure your child has a suitable P.E. Kit consisting of a t-shirt, shorts or joggers, pumps or trainers. We are now accessing table cricket on a Thursday morning (9.30am- 10.30am).

R.E.: we will be looking at how Easter is celebrated as well as looking into different relglious events over the next month and a half. Children will also be discussing the morals of different stories.

Across the subjects of Art, Music and Geography we will we be looking and creating art work through physical means, creating music to match the pace of different movements and we will be doing map work in Geography

Thank you to those parents who have already signed up for this - we hope you are enjoying the insights into your child’s time at school.  You can expect at least 1 photograph a week of your child in class as well as them receiving ‘Dojo Points’ daily.  I will resend login details for those still wishing to sign up.

Telephone

There is normally member of the class team available to speak to throughout the day, please phone the school office and ask for a member of staff from Brazil Class if you wish to speak to us.
