Welcome to St Giles Special School
St Giles School is the only special primary school for Derby City. Our children's needs include moderate and severe learning difficulties and autism. At St Giles we aim to create an inspiring, creative and caring environment in which the children feel valued and enjoy their learning. Each child's potential can be developed through our personalised individual approach to learning and by participation in a vast and varied range of opportunities, activities and experiences.
The P.T.A Need You
My name is David Martins (Layla from red rooms dad) I am St Giles PTA President. I have been asked to say a few words in regards to the PTA meetings. In our meetings we discuss how we can raise funds for the school i.e fund raising, raffles and also donations. At each meeting we discuss possible ideas and are set tasks to complete
Monday 3rd February we had a visit from Councillor Martin Rawson, who came to congratulate the school on our OFSTED Report. Councillor Rawson toured the school, and met some of the staff and pupils. He was very pleased that we had done so well following OFSTED’s recent change in standards.
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all our parents and families. It’s lovely to see all the children back at school. Diary dates have been up-dated and will keep you informed of any changes, and also what will be happening over the next half term. Thankyou for all your support. Looking forward to a successful 2014
