Welcome to St Giles Special School
St Giles School is the only special primary school for Derby City. Our children's needs include moderate and severe learning difficulties and autism. At St Giles we aim to create an inspiring, creative and caring environment in which the children feel valued and enjoy their learning. Each child's potential can be developed through our personalised individual approach to learning and by participation in a vast and varied range of opportunities, activities and experiences.

Eid Day 2015
On 2nd October 2015 we celebrated Eid as a school and took part in lots of activities around the school like making prayer mats, mosaics, stained glass windows and a junk model mosque! We also did some bollywood style dancing and learnt so fun routines! We made chapatis and tried them with curry and some aisan sweets. Finally, we shared what we had made in
Inclusion Quality Mark
On Monday 6th July an assessor from IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark) arrived in school to accredit the inclusive practice within St. Giles. Dave Stott, toured the school buildings with Ingrid, the IQM coordinator. He watched assembly, spoke to key staff, the chair of Governors, the SLT and also to a panel of parents. He spent time looking at displays, time tables and other resources.
